Error migration vcenter 6.7 to 7.0 - Unable to connect to VMware Lifecycle Manager Database

Hi everybody!

I'm trying to migrate our vCenter 6.7.0 build 17137232 to 7.0.1 but, when I ran the migration assistant, I received this error message:

Error: Unable to connect to VMware Lifecycle Manager Database, Cannot proceed with migration
Resolution: Please check that VMware Lifecycle Manager Database is reachable before migration and Please make sure Migration Assistant is launched under service account for VMware Lifecycle Manager

The VMware Service Lifecycle Manager was running under Local Service.  I changed the service account for the vCenter Server service account and the same behavior.

I found nothing on Internet about this specific error.  I checked everywhere about the Lifecyle Manager database but nothing.

Can you please guide me or give me some advice about that?  I'm really new about VMware, this was my first experience with it in this upgrade process.

Thanks for all your help!

Thank you for your post on VMware Communities.

If there are no custom baselines in the Update manager, we can remove the Update manager plugin for the duration of the upgrade. Post upgrade, update manager would be built within the vCenter 7.

Link to assist with Update manager plugin(com.vmware.vcIntegrity) removal from MOB page:https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1025360?lang=en_US

Note: Please take vCenter snapshot before making any changes
Re-try the Migration after removing the plugin and let me know as to how the issue proceeds.

For step by step instructions on how to migrate Windows vCenter to VCSA 7.0 please follow the below URL:

Please let me know how it goes.

@VMAKS

Thanks for the help!! I'm gonna try that and let you know.

About the snapshot, the current vCenter is a physical server, so what do you recommend instead of the snapshot?

@ldramirez14

For physical server, it is recommended to take a complete Windows & DB backup to be on the safer side.
