Error 25003.Setup failed to create the vCenter server repository

Hi guys,

I try to install vCenter 4 on W2K3 std R2 UK with oracle 10.0.2.4.0 on a remote server.

The db user has the DBA rights.

I have install oracle client (+patch) and odbc driver and configure

sqlora.net:

NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH = (TNSNAMES)

SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS)

tnsnames.ora with correct value.

I've also setup a dsn and test connection, all is ok.

The install process check user rights and start install but at the end, when creating vcenter server repository, i've got the error:

Error 25003.Setup failed to create the vCenter server repository

I've read many threads on the subject but i stil have the problem.

I don't know where i'm wrong or if it is a bug, i didn't find any logs.

any ideas ?

I just got this on a win2k3 64bit standard with odbc DSN to an Oracle 10.2 dbase... did you have any luck with yours?

Just a question but are you guys using a 32-bit DSN for your ODBC connection?  If not, read this KB: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1010401
