Enable RDP

Can somebody tell me if there is a way to enable RDP exceptions to the firewall via the vSphere Client?

I didn't enable RDP during the install.

Thanks.

not that I am aware of.  This is a guest OS thing, not really a VMware thing.

Welcome to the communities.

There should be no need to enable anything in the firewall. The ESX firewall does not block any network traffic to the guest machines. If this is ESXi rather than ESX then there is no firewall.

If you have access to the vSphere client you can always click on the console, login, and enable RDP.

Yes I know...But that is what I was trying to avoid doing since I have about 50 Virtual Machines. I didn't want to have to go into each one individually and enable RDP.

Thanks.

Maybe you can utilize powershell or some other script language  to enable it for you.

It is possible to remotely enable RDP by use the remote registry editor.

This doesn't help your current problem but your best bet is to start off with a template. Have everything set up as you need.
