ESXi re-install advice

We have a pair of Dell R720 Hosts, part of a vMware 5.5 setup.

After setting up USB Passthrough, and deciding it's not for me, I need to re-install ESXi on one of the hosts.

I've not setup an ESXi host yet, although it looks fairly straightforward, however I wanted to ask if I need to take a note of any of the settings before I wipe and re-install the host, or will those settings be auto configured by vMware server once it's been added back into the cluster?

You can reinstall the ESXi host with or without preserving the local VMFS datastore (if any), so that shouldn't be an issue. However, unless you are using host profiles you will need to configure several settings, like networking, NTP, shared storage access (e.g. in case of iSCSI), ...
