ESXi 5.0 update 1 creates and removes snapshots automatically

Hi Guys,

I just upgrade from ESXi 4.1 to 5.0 updates 1 and noticed my Virtual machines (which has not been upgraded) are automatically creating and removing snapshots, and this has been going on for a very long time.

1) is this normal?

2) what are the end effects of this if it is normal

3) if it isnt what can i do to stop the VMs from creating and removing snapshots atatched is the screen shot of what i mean.

AFAIK ESXi will not create snapshot automatically unless someone schedule to create a snapshot or may be the backup application creates the snapshot, You should be able find who is initiating the snapshot from "Initiated By" tab in the Recent tasks

An account that was used to install ESXi is creating and removing snapshots.

i have checked ad there is no schdeult for snapshots.

OP, did you ahve a cron job for snapshots before?

maybe it is corrupted?

maybe, How do i check for such jobs?

Can you check the VM VMX file and see if the VM automated snapshot is confgiured
