ESXi 4.1 show incorrect sockets and cores per socket

Since the update to ESXi 4.1 our IBM 3850M2 servers now show up as 8 sockets with 3 cores per socket instead of the correct 4 sockets with 6 cores per. This is obviously causing some licensing issues in the environment. I am working on opening an SR but wanted to know if any one else is seeing this.

Have booted with other operating systems which do see the correct sockets and cores so I believe this to be an ESXi 4.1 issue.

You are not alone, this seems to be a bug related to either the IBM BIOS or ESX(i) 4.1.
