ESX4 U1 on Workstation 7.0

I've been running with ESX 3.5 with Workstation 6.5 for a while now, but thought it was time to update a little.

so trying the latest ESX4 build with Workstation 7.

I'm suffering the 2GB minimum memory issue when attempting to power on the ESX virtual machine.

another article I've read mentions changing the "required memory" value in the 00.vmnix file. This doesn't seem to work anymore, and the value just keeps resetting itself in the file.

I would appreciate any help....I've only got 4GB in my laptop !!!

You need to have 2GB memory for installing ESX4. Once you install that, you can change the 2GB requirment by editing a file in ESX. I read article in Yellow-bricks site.

I am trying to locate it. If I get I will post you.

ESX4 requires 2GB for itself.

Thanks Shan

the article I saw was also on the Yellow-Brick website. I thinking that perhaps the "workaround" no longer work with Update 1
