Hey, hope you are doing fine
For v7 VMware replaced the vmklinux drivers so lots of hardware layout became incompatible.
If possible acquire new hardware, else please upgrade to latest vsphere 6.7 version.

What hardware (server model, CPU, etc.) do you use?
Please verify whether your hardware is supported (https://www.vmware.com/go/hcl).

If it's supported it may be possible to upgrade ESXi from the command line.

Hello,

My hardware specs:

  • Hypervisor:VMware ESXi, 6.5.0, 14320405
  • Model:System x3650 M4 -[7915AC1]-
  • Processor Type:Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2690 0 @ 2.90GHz
  • Logical Processors:16
  • NICs:9

the hardware should be supported, I was given the custom ISO "VMware-ESXi-7.0.1.-16850804-LNV-20200917.iso"  for my upgarde.

I have read in some posts that I can remove those VIBs and then do the upgrade. Is that safe to do?

Thanks.
