I am trying to install esx in vmware workstation. ESX keeps asking for pressing F11 to continue I cannot enter F11 which does not do anything. Any help is appreciated.

Did you click inside the virtual machine so that your mouse keys are passed through to the VM?

Are you using a laptop? As if so you might need to press the function key with F11.
Is VT enabled in BIOS ?
