ESX 4 - local disk not see

Hello,

I tried to install ESX 4 on a server ( HP Proliant ML 350). I have ntfs, ext3 partitions , each about 100 GB .

While i choosed a disk to install, the list is empty.

I don't understand.

Could you help me, please ?

Hi,

Your storage controller must be supported in order to ESX4 to see it.

Is this by any chance an IDE disk? If so, have a look here:

PS: As you are saying that you already have other partitions on the disk, beware that ESX will destroy everything already on the disk!

Thanks.

I thinks this solution is interessting for physical driver, however i used to RAID 5 on logical driver. ( sorry, i saw that to late)

Finally, i change the configuration drivers to RAID 1+0 and the installation succeed.

But why the installation failed with RAID 5 ?

Hi,

With "logical driver" do you mean software RAID in linux?

If so, that's just not supported in ESX, only hardware RAID will work.
