Hello,
I tried to install ESX 4 on a server ( HP Proliant ML 350). I have ntfs, ext3 partitions , each about 100 GB .
While i choosed a disk to install, the list is empty.
I don't understand.
Could you help me, please ?
Hi,
Your storage controller must be supported in order to ESX4 to see it.
Is this by any chance an IDE disk? If so, have a look here:
http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/ESXi_install_to_IDE_drive/ESXi_install_to_IDE_drive.php
PS: As you are saying that you already have other partitions on the disk, beware that ESX will destroy everything already on the disk!

Hi,
Thanks.
I thinks this solution is interessting for physical driver, however i used to RAID 5 on logical driver. ( sorry, i saw that to late)
Finally, i change the configuration drivers to RAID 1+0 and the installation succeed.
But why the installation failed with RAID 5 ?
Hi,
With "logical driver" do you mean software RAID in linux?
If so, that's just not supported in ESX, only hardware RAID will work.
