ESX 4.0 Install Problems

I'm trying to install esx 4.0 on a test system that worked fine for 3.5. During install the system gets to installing file 230 kernal and then reboots to begin the install again. Des anybody have a solution? Thx!

Have you confirmed the hardware is supported by vSphere - there were a number of servers that were supported by ESX 3.5 and were dropped by vSphere -

Verify that your hardware is on HCL.

What problems do you have, please give some more details.
