Databases Missing After upgrade from 6.7 to HPE 7.0.1

My vCenter is already upgraded to the latest 7.0. Months  ago VMware support  told me not to upgrade my Hosts to 7.0.  I downloaded the latest version today VMware ESXi, 7.0.1, 16850804 thinking that problems should be fixed. WRONG. My one host will now not see any databases and gets a few more errors.

Already opened a ticket.

Anyone have a solution? Tried a downgrade  using Shift R, that worked months ago but this time it  said could not find any hypevision to downgrade to.

Thanks.

I'm afraid that it requires more information to be able to provide help.

Shift-R will not work in this case, because of the modified ESXi partitions.

  • What kind of storage do you use? Local, iSCSI, FC, NAS?
  • Has the storage controller/adapter been detected correctly?
  • In case of shared storage, do the LUNs/devices show up under the storage controller?
  • Does the vmkernel.log contain details regarding the datsatores?

1) We use Equallogic iSCSI  SANs. The other two host are working fine on 6.7.

2) The storage looks OK. I did a re-scan with no help.

What about the iSCSI configuration? Do you see the targets in the configuration?

Once you select the iSCSI adapter, does it list any devices/LUNs?

Did you check the network iSCSI connection, and the dynamic/static discovery settings yet?

I have seen this before. I just have to lookup the location of the logging and dump location.

Is ESXi installed on HDD/SSD, or on an SD/USB device?
