I recently lost the usb boot drive in my host. I read all kb articles and re-installed the esxi software to a new SLC drive. I am seeing an error "no coredump target has been configured. Host core dumps cannot be saved". When I use the esxcli system coredump partition get, it lists "not a known device". I thought when I reinstalled esxi to the new usb drive it would partition it accordingly to house these files. This error didn't appear on my original install to the original drive. I have been reading for hours and I must be missing how to remedy this config error. Please help.

Hello,
When I had similar issue I followed this article No coredump target has been configured and that fixed the issue.
Just give a try .
When I originally installed ESXi for this host, was it writing the coredumps to the usb drive I was using as the boot drive by default? Can I down the host and add a partition using a workstation on the usb drive and then configure?
