Convert to embbeded PSC vCenter

Hello,

Currently we having vCenter with external PSC deployment

vCenter version is 6.5, PSC and vCEnter using Windows 2008.

We need to have vCEnter 6.7 with embedded PSC using VCSA.

Please advice what is the best step to achieve that condition.

Thanks.

Perform an upgrade/migration from vCenter 6.5 for Windows to vCSA 6.7. The PSC should get upgraded first. Once upgrade is complete, do a converge to an embedded PSC.

We need to have vCEnter 6.7 with embedded PSC using VCSA.

If v6.7 is a hard requirement, i.e. v7.0 is not an option you can stop reading this

However, if everything in your environment (e.g. hosts, backup, 3rd-party tools, ...) is ready for vCenter Server 7.0, you may consider to migrate to that version as it does an automatic converge.

See e.g. vSphere 7 - vCenter Server 7 Migration & Upgrades - VMware vSphere Blog

Thanks experts for your responses. Really appreciate it.

We are using vDistributed switch ver 6.5, would it configuration stay intact (means no reconfiguration) when upgrade to 6.7 or 7.0 finished ?

Currently we do not have 3rd party integrated to vcenter 6.5.

Distributed Virtual Switch version 6.5 is supported by both, vCenter 6.7, and vCenter 7.0. Otherwise it wouldn't be possible to perform an upgrade.

See also Create a vSphere Distributed Switch from the vSphere 7.0 documentation.
