Booting / Installing ESXi 4.1 From / To Microsoft ISCSI Target

Hello,

I'm trying to install VMware ESXi on my HP DL360 G7 on an ISCSI target provided my Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2008 R2. I've defined my ISCSI tartget / initiator settings in the bios of the first nic / ISCSI adapter in the server. It connects to the target without any issues, I have not enabled "boot to ISCSI target" since I want to boot from the ESXi CD to perform the installation.

The ESXi installation process begins to load and gets to the point where you'd normally select a hard drive to install it on and fails, claiming that it can't find any storage devices to install to.

The exact same setup has been used to successfully install Windows 7 on the same ISCSI target just to prove it works.

Yesterday I had managed to get the server to connect to an IET ISCSI target and install ESXi but I could not get the server to boot from the target, hence the change to the Microsoft ISCSI Target.

Is this supposed to be possible?
