Biggest upgrade fear with 5.1

I'm on the verge of upgrading my vCenter Server to 5.1.  My biggest fear is losing connectivity to my hosts, but I am assuming even if the Host Agent on a host fails to upgrade, that I can still access each host individually through vCenter Client?

I suppose either the 4.1 or 5.1 vCenter client would work in this scenario?

Please let me know.

Yes, no matter what, you could manage the host directly via the VI Client.

Dont worry, your hosts and guest VM's will remain online.

I suggest you spend some time reading the forum posts and documentation for upgrading to 5.1.

VMware didn't exactly make the 5.1 upgrade very smooth. Fortunately you are late in the game and most of the serious upgrade bugs have been addressed in fixed 5.1 installer packages.

Good luck.
