Best Practice - Log File Rotation vmware.log?

We are migrating to vSphere 4.0 from 3.5. We have had vmware.log file problems in the past with some logs reaching the thousands because they were not rotating properly. I know there was a bug that caused the log rotation to not work properly and we have applied the fix.

You an also add log rotation settings to the vmx file per VMware KB Article: 8182749[http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=8182749]My question is does anyone edit their VM template vmx files to include log rotation settings or do most people rely on the standard automatic log rotation?

Thanks

Hello.

I edit the templates to include the log rotation and size settings. I also do this for P2V converted systems.

Good Luck!
