Auto Deploy and Host Profiles - new host getting a 169. adress...

Hi guys,

Having an issue with Auto Deploy and Host Profiles and I can't work out where I'm going wrong...

The Auto Deploy bit works fine - created my software depot, uploaded images etc, created my Deploy Rules and tested them successfully. Hosts boot correctly and download their images.

I've created my reference host and created a Host Profile based on that host which I've attached to my cluster. I've then created a new rule for the rest of the hosts in the environment specifying the Cluster and the Host Profile attached to the Cluster.

When I attempt to boot a new host, it picks up the correct DHCP address and gets the image okay, but I think I've a problem with my host profile as the new host comes up with a 169 address.

I'm not realy sure where to troubleshoot from here? Do I need to create an answer file for the new host? How do I go about doing that in 5.1?

Thanks

Chris

Chris, I think there is no need to create an answer file if your profile is configured for the DHCP.

Can you double check whether you are getting proper lease from DHCP.
