Hi, AFAIK it does get installed, bu performances are very poor (we're working with VMWare and HP support with no luck).
VMWare 5.1 (also upgraded to 5.5, in both cases the image is the customized one coming from HP) on HP ProLiant 385p gen8 (opteron 6376) is running very slow.
I compared a CentOS VM running on this hardware with another running on a (old) Xeon 5530 (HP ProLiant DL360 G6)... Well the latter is the fastest !!! (2x)
Even a CentOS installed directly on the hardware performs very bad (is more or less the same as the VM running on the XEON).
We performed tests through Phoronix suite, benchmarking processors perfomances.
Looks like there's no way to make Opteron's fly. They are just walking (not even running...)
