2008 guest on esxi 4.1 not seeing network but esx host does

I just tried spinning up a 2008 Standard box (tried both 64-bit and 32-bit) and it won't see the network.  I tried the E1000 and VMXNET 3 drivers but still get an unidentified network.  ESXi 4.1 seems to be fine as I can ping the 10.x networks and the 170.x networks see below.  Our Blade environment is a C7000 with flex-10 and bl460c's.  Can someone please help. The pings you run on the console use the "Management Network" i.e. vSwitch0 (vmnic2, vmnic3). The virtual machine however is attached to the "VLAN170" port group which is on vSwitch1 and uses vmnic0 + vmnic1. Therefore you need to verify that the two uplinks for vmnic0 and vmnic1 are attached to trunk ports (which allow VLAN 170) and the routing as well as the DHCP helper is configured correctly.
