PowerCLI 5.1 with Update Manager PowerCLI 5.0 components

We have a legacy 5.0 vC/VUM environment which we manage using PowerCLI 5.0/Update Manager 5.0 PowerCLI. We're looking to move to PowerCLI 5.1/Update Manager PowerCLI 5.1 to take advantage of some of the revised functionality in PowerCLI 5.1 itself (Kerberos auth to vS hosts, etc.) however we've just noticed that Update Manager PowerCLI 5.1 can't  be used with a 5.0 VUM server (returns an API not supported, and the release notes for Update Manager PowerCLI 5.1 document that it can only talk to a 5.1 VUM server).

Is it a supported configuration to run PowerCLI 5.1 with Update Manager PowerCLI 5.0? It "seems to work" but don't know if this is the "official" way to use PowerCLI 5.1 while there is still VUM 5.0 in the environment...

Feedback appreciated

The PowerCLI 5.1 Release 1 release notes don't explictely mention a PowerCLI Update Manager version.

But since PowerCLI 5.1 Release 1 support vSphere 5 Update 1, I would consider that as implicit support for Update Manager 5.0, and consequently PowerCLI Update Manager 5.0.

I have been using PowerCLI 5.1 Release 1 together with PowerCLI Update Manager 5.0 for some time, and I haven't noticed any issues (which of course doesn't guarantee there are none)
