I don't work for VMware, I have no idea what their roadmap looks like.
Ask your TAM.

There is also a vRO plugin for Update Manager.

I'm afraid not.

The VMware.VumAutomation module is one of the few modules that doesn't support PowerShell v6 yet.
And so you can't use the VUM cmdlets on a Linux platform (for now).

Any API/SDK available to automate VUM? Any pyvmomi module to interact with VUM?

Thanks a lot!! So the only way available to interact/automate VUM is PowerCLI (Powershell for windows). If our environment is Linux and if we want to interact/automate VUM then we still need windows host with Powershell/PowerCLI to do the job.

Any enhancement in the upcoming major release or in their committed roadmap?
