Real people, real faces, discussing VMware vSphere topics...
In this video, a VMware Engineer will discuss the Storage Management Improvements that are now available in VMware vSphere 4:
That was a superfast video. My brain couldnt catchup!
I found in " What Is New in VMware vSphere™ 4: Storage" (http://126.96.36.199/search?q=cache:hKK6Rzo_vIIJ:www.vmware.com/files/pdf/Storage-with-VMware-vSphere.pdf+Storage-with-VMware-vSphere.pdf&cd=1&hl=ru&ct=clnk&gl=ua#5) next information
" Improved Storage Resources Control
As the scope of storage resources have increased significantly with large deployments of virtualization environments, so has
the need for greater automation and control of these resources. In the vSphere release, vCenter has been enhanced
with several new storage specific capabilities to help the virtual administrator manage these environments with a
higher degree of control. These enhancements provide administrators with proactive alerts and alarms to address issues
before they interrupt the availability of applications running on those resources. vCenter allows setting permissions and
quota limits on datastores, as well as per VM."
Can You explain me what does it mean - ... vCenter allows setting permissions and quota limits on datastores, as well as per VM.
Can I set quota limit (storage space) on particular VM with its snapshots ?
Thanks in advance.
