virtual san for newbie

Hi

I need some information, im currently studying for my VCP exam and have setup a home lab.

Can anyone recommend a virtual san application to use with my esx4 server, as i would like to get some hands on skills, when it comes to storage.

At work i do not have access to any SAN technology, hence im left with no option but to learn and home.

Any help would be appreciated.

BTW i am very new to SAN technology, so i will also need a idiots guide

Thanks

Jitesh

Take a look at these opensource products - OpenFiler or FreeNAS - they will allow you to set up iSCSI or NAS targets -

If you are pretty new to SAN technologies, then you definetely should use StarWind - there are free and trial versions, and it is very simple in use. Also the support can take care of you 24/7, and in my case they done it well.

All the best!
