from what you describe it could be a storage related issue.

run esxtop and look at hte DAVG counter while doing a svmotion.

Which version of vSphere/ESXi do you use? Are the datastores created using the same block size (in case they were created as VMFS3 datastores)?

Hi,

I upgraded my evnviroment from esx 4.1 to Esxi 5.1, but i did not upgrade the current VMFS 3 to VMFS 5 .

Do you think the performance issue come from VMFS 3 ??

Thanks

I don't think this is related to the VMFS version. However, it may be related to the block sizes of the datastores (1, 2,4 or 8MB).

Anyway, did you experience this issue with ESXi 4.1 too? If not you may want to check with your storage vendor to see whether you need to change something in the configuration, either on the storage side or the ESXi side. Some storage vendors do not fully support VAAI and it may need to be disabled (see e.g. http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1033665)?
