iometer iops decreases

when i run iometer on a unformatted rdm. the total iops starts high but decreases fast as it keeps running. why is that?

Hi,

Are you seeing increase in error count or response time while iops descrease? Does the iops count stabilize after running it for few minutes (a cache on the storage system that could increase performance initially should not matter much after running iometer for a longer period of time)

Is it a local or san-based rdm? Sequentials or random iops?

the error count remains at 0. but iops continues to go down as it runs.

its a san rdm using 100% random.
