Hey.
I have DS3300 iSCSI model with 2 controllers.
4 vmware ESX4 hosts.
COntroller A:
POrt1 - 192.168.11.1
Port2 - 192.168.11.2
Controller B:
Port1 - 192.168.11.3
Port2 - 192.168.11.4
I have added all ip's in esx's iscsi targets, but i thought that the esx server would only use the first ip, and then use number 2 in case of failure.
But when i log into DS3300 and click iscsi, i can see that there is 16 connections. 4 from each server - that means each server have logged in to each ip.
I think this is the wrond way to configure it - ?
I also think i might be thrashing my san.
What do you think ?
Best regards Mikkel
As I remember, this storage is quite similar to Dell MD3000i.
You must create 2 different network with 2 different address.

Hey.
Yes it is the same as the dell MD3000i.
I've read the documents you attached, and that states nothing about what i should do regarding the 4 ethernet ports and vmware setup / preferred paths.
by the way, i see 31 paths to my san. Should i use fixed, round robin, or ?
31 paths
Sure? I think that this is the LUN ID.
Do not use round robin with you kind of storage (cause is not a active/active one).
For the IP configuration see:
