iSCSI Disk Space not Fully Recognized

I have an Infortrend EonStor S12E-R1132-4 iSCSI SAN. It came configured with one big Logical Disk of 40TB. When I connect it to ESXi it only shows 20.75GB available. I'm wondering if this is a configuration issue on the SAN or a limitation of ESXi. Any suggestions will be appreciated

your first problem is that this isn't on the vSphere HCL

2nd. you should only be using datastores about 2TB in size

As kac2 mentioned do create your LUN/datastore less than 2TB each and this is due to current limitation of vmfs-3. Check this out

vcbMC-1.0.6 Beta

vcbMC-1.0.7 Lite

I made a 2 TB LUN and it sees it. Any reason for this?

So basically I am going to have to create a bunch of 2TB LUNs and have a bunch of datastores depending on how many VMs I will be needing?

I'm used to XenServer and it has absolutely no problem seeing a 40TB SAN and using it.

it's a limitation of the VMFS filesystem. also, not a smart idea to put all your VMs on a single datastore. you'll be doing storage contention. break it down and put heavy workloads in different datastores.
