iSCSI Configuration

Jump to solution

Hi,

I am configuring iSCSI Software intiator on my ESXi 5 host. I am using Dell PowerEdge R620 server.

How are the Broadcom iSCSI Adapters will be displyed in Storage Adapter view of vCenter Server.

Right now i am unable to see any Broadcom Storage Adapter in "Storage Adapter" View. I have performed all the below steps.

1)  VSWITCH CONFIGURATION

2)  Standard vSwitch Configuration

3)   Add iSCSI VMkernel Ports

4)  Associate VMkernel Ports to Physical Adapters

But still i am unable to see BroadCom Storage Adapter in "Storage Adapter" view.

Please Suggest.

You are not going to see that card show up in the Storage Adapters list. It is listed in the HCL as Network.

Enable the iSCSI Software Adapter, obtain the properties for it in the Storage Adapters list and then configure the networking from there.

Which Broadcom adapter do you have? You may have to enable and use the software initiator, depending on the adapter.

Yes, exactly.

After you add the sofware iSCSI initiator, you will need to bind the vmk networking you set up earlier to it. Check out:
