Working SCSI-Controller for Tapedrive

Since Adaptec 29160 (Driver aic7xxx) is'nt supported with vSphere 4 anymore, do someone know a scsi-controller that work with LTO2-Drive and vSphere 4 exept Adaptec 29320?

Please post working modells or a solution for aic7xxxx driver.

Go to: http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php

Select the IO Devices Tab

Search Keywoard 'SCSI'

Partner Name Adaptec

Then click on search and a bunch of options will appear which will be a list of supported SCSI adapters from Adaptec.

I know the HCL, but I'm looking for a working U160/U320 controller which is not mandatory on the HCL, the Adaptec 5805 (SAS) is working fine and is also not in the HCL for ESX4 ...

Hello,

The only ones I know that will absolutely work are the ones on the HCL. You will need one that uses the same driver as available for once of the ones from the HCL. THat would be the approach I would take. Find the HCL driver's in use, then match that against other adaptec hardware normally used on a Linux box. aic7xxx is a driver, since its gone, find one of the others.
