Does anyone know what is the problem does the error code mean?

SAS storaged is tested.

when running IO in ESXi5 hosts, many errors reported in /var/log/vmkernel.log:

and whis the sense data 0x5 0x24 0x0 mean?

There seems to be a check condition on your device i.e LUN.

Host Status = 0x0 = OK
Device Status = 0x2 = Check Condition
Plugin Status = 0x0 = OK

The additional valid sense data 0x5 0x24 0x0 denotes:

My suggestion would be to do more investigation prior deciding on ignoring them completely. Some of the things I think you can start with are:

--> check for any relevant errors on your Storage array that could provide more info.

--> Ensure your HBAs are at the latest firmware

--> Both the ESXi hosts and the Storage are configured according to vendor best practices.

--> If it's occurring on a particular host, try to reboot the host and see if the error goes away.

--> Finally, provide more info to the community on your Storage setup, so someone with more expertise can assist.
