Hello all,
We are purchasing a VMAX 10k for our environment, and I wanted to verify something the sales reps have told us (you know they will say anything). In our current environment we are seeing latency issues because we have used thin provisoned VMDKs to save space. When the disk needs to be expanded it has to lock the LUN to update the meta-data. I was told with the VMAX this doesn't occure because all writes are written to cache and then flushed on the backend to disk. The result is that we would not see this performance hit. Can any one verify this?
Thank you kindly,
Steven
