After adding two new ESX 4 hosts to our cluster (four others runnign 3.5 for now) we are now showed two storages from the local hosts disk. In earlier version we were able to remove these, but in 4.0 (VC 4.0 as well) this storage cannot be removed/ deleted since it is in use?
The ESX 4 installation is more or less after the book. - did I do something wrong.
Hope You know what I am trying to write.
HI,
in your case you cannont remove locale Datasore, because you ESX Console is located on it.

yes, I saw that earlier and read somewhere that the new ESX 4 is a "virtual" file it self. But is there now way to unpresent it. I do not want other IT-users to use these storages by mistake.
You can give permissions to datastores in vSphere, so just do not give permissions to local datastores for usual users.
