Three paths per iSCSI data store after binding vmkernel

I have three ESXi 4 hosts and a dual NSM P4300 G2 7.2TB iSCSI SAN. We had one iSCSI vmkernel port. After reading the VMware iSCSI documentation I followed the instructions to create a second and bind both to the iSCSI software adapter. After doing this I now have three paths per iSCSI LUN. ?!?!? I'm expecting to only see two per LUN. What's going on and where did these extra paths come from? I also see three connections to the SAN from the ESXi host that I changed. iSCSI is working but I have a bad feeling something isn't configured correctly.

Here is the output of esxcli swiscsi nic list

Looks like I needed to reboot ESXi to apply the changes. I guess there was a hanging iSCSI session there!

The iSCSI connection established during the GUI setup didn't close - that was the third path I was seeing. A simple reboot of ESX fixed it.
