Thin disk

Hello

I am converting som VM's from thick to thin disk. But are seeing very smal space savings.

For example If my vmdk is 20GB and it has about 12GB free the new thin vmdk is still about 18GB.

The host OS is XP Pro with VM version 7 and the latest tools.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Shrink disk is disabled for my virtual machines.

Any other ideas

Are you able to turn off the VM? If so, commit any snapshots and change the hard drive settings to persistent. When you power up the VM, shrinking should be available.
