Storage VMotion VM > 2TB

Hi, we will be implementing ESXi 5, and have many LUNs presented all sized at 2TB. In addition also have several VMs with multiple VMDK files, and in some cases the total size of all VMDK files for a single VM exceed 2TB i.e. the VMDK files for the VM are spread over 2 or more LUNs.

I have a question regards to Storage VMotion, if I decide to SVMotion a VM > 2TB, does vSphere allow you to select which datastore LUNs to move the VM to. I know that with small VMs a single LUN destination can be selected, but for a large VM can multiple LUNs be selected?

Thanks

Of course you can specify where you want to move your VMDKs.

In the svMotion window you have an advance button. There you get the options for each VMDK + the VM config files.

yes, when you Migrate guest (change datastore) use the "advanced" option.  From there you can choose multiple destination LUNs
