Remove FC SAN Datastores

I am long overdue to swap out some SATA disks in my FC SAN shelf for SAS disks. Can anyone point me to the correct procedure for correctly removing the datastores from my vSphere before I actually delete the LUNs on the SAN shelf? I currently have two ESXi 4.0 hosts, a shelf with a mix of SAS and SATA arrays, and active-active FC switches and HBAs.

I’ve already moved my virtual machines to other storage so nothing is utilizing the SATA datastores.

Thanks!

Hi,

just make sure you "delete" the Datastore before you remove the corresponding LUN. Once the Datastore is deleted, do a "Rescan for Datastores" on your Datacenter after you have removed your LUN's.

Thats it,
