Reduce provisioned disk size

We have accidently increased a disk by 600GB and OK'd the change, however the disk expansion has not been committed in the OS.

I need that disk back, is there a way, or am I to create a new vDisk, restore data to it and remove the one that is now oversized.

Cheers!

Brendan

Hi Brendan,

You should use the VMware Converter and you can change the layout of the destination VM in the following page;

Shrink-V2v.jpg

You can decrese the size in the Size/Capacity menu.

You can use the link below for more info, checkout Method 2:

Hope it helps.

You can use VMware converter to reduce the disk size.

While performing the V2V, you will get an option to change the size of the virtual disks.

It provides the option to both reduce/increase the virtual disks.
