Reclaiming storage space after deleting Virtual Machine

Hi Forum, Need experts assistants to fix my issue. I am unable to reclaim storage space after deleting VM. Please guide me how to reclaim the space in EMC storage dashboard. Regards Rahim

in order to help, it's necessary to know your setup, so please provide some details.

Am I right in assuming that it is block storage?

  • which storage system (model, firmware) is in use?
  • how are the LUNs configured (thin, thick)?
  • which ESXi version/build do you use?
  • which VMFS version do you use for the datastores (VMFS5, or VMFS6)?

Hi Andre,

we are using EMC Storage VNXE3200 system with thin LUNs configuration , VMware ESXi version is 6.0.0 and datastores type is NFS
