I would like to setup a new VMware infrastructure (ESXi 5.1) to host non-critical applications and non-production VMs, in addition to our main VMware infrastructure.
I would like to use 2 HP servers (2 CPU with 8 cores, 96GB of memory) and a SAN array (HP P2000 SAS) with SAS disks (10k). I need about 10TB of storage.
What's the best RAID configuration ?
RAID10 is a high performance configuration but it is quite expensive.
Is a RAID50 vdisk (2* 7*900GB disks) a good choice ? Would 3 RAID5 vdisks with 5 disks eachs be more efficient ?
How would you setup this array raid ?
