RDM to LUN

I'm trying to make an RDM to a LUN that is 1.8 TB in size.  I have a LUN set up with an 8MB block size but when I try to create the file, I get an error stating that the VMDK is larger than the maximum size supported by the datastore.  I thought the limit was 2 TB.  If that's not stopping me, then can anyone point out what is? Thanks in advance to anyone that can clue me in.

The limit is 2TB-512b indeed. So you stored the VMs config files on a LUN that is formatted with an 8MB blocksize?

Yes.  I'm using 8MB block size and the LUN is 1.81 TB.   Isn't this still under the 2 TB - 512 GB limit?  Perhaps my math is wrong...

Just to further clarify, the limit is 2TB-512 Bytes (not GB). Smiley Happy
