NFS and connections to storage

Hi

How many connections does ESX open to an NFS datastore? Is it one per host, one per VM, one per vmdk? Or something else?

Does it depend on the storage? In that case I'd love to know for a NetApp and a Celerra.

There are 2 connections per NFS datastore, one for metadata and the other for IO.
