Multiple LUNS on a Single HBA port

Hi  Team,

just want to clear one of the doubt had with Storage. Can we connect multiple LUNs on a single HBA port?

Yes you can but you need to make sure you do not saturate the HBA -

Yes, and the maximum LUNs you can have per host is 256.

Yes there is nothing wrong with doing this but you don't want to leave it in this state for to long , as there is no failover for that host should a physical HBA issue occur

Yes you can, but you have to take care about the availability and performance.  When you use a single connection channel between VMware and the Storage, you have to make sure the bandwidth is enough to support all the I/O traffic.  Besides, you haven't any level of high availability in the VMware-Storage connection.
