    Hi All,

I have vSphere 5 running and EMC CX4 storage using FibreChannel.  I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction to detach the lun from the physical cluster and add it as an RDM to the virtual cluster I have set up.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    Hi,

Add the same Lun from the EMC which has assigned to the Physical Server to Virtual Machine,Next option is to stop the cluster, create a new RDM, and restart the cluster. This process creates down time, which might not be acceptable in a production environment.

Instead of stopping the cluster, you can create new RDM descriptors on the local VMFS volume

Here is the Link for how to add New RDM in Virtual Machine.

Theres absolutely no need to stop the cluster at all.

Just present the LUNs to the cluster (Storage Group, generally).  Rescan the HBAs on the ESXi hosts.  Add the new LUN to the VM via the GUI wizard.

    That totally makes sense.  Thanks!
