Intel SS4000-E Entry Storage System opinions?

Does anybody work with this Storage NAS system under VSphere?

I have the opportunity to buy it at an affordable and cheaper price and I wonder if it would be a good idea for Vsphere work with.

Just a quick look but only supports SATA 1 (1.5GB disk speeds). Small processor and ?? about RAM. Not on the HCL. I would say you could find better.

Ok, thanks. It is so difficult and hard a SAN / NAS with 2 NIC's lower than 200 $ on ebay, for example.

Any suggestions?

For under 200 it will be very very very difficult to find anything at all. Or do you mean 2000?

As I remember this storage has NFS support but if not TCP v3.

There are the sources of the Linux part but it not simple to modify to add the right support (the CPU is not a "standard" x86 based).
