Installing storage appliance on existing DEV platform

hi - i just want to check something re the deployment of the vmware storage appliance.  I have a DEV platfrom already that has SAN LUNs presented to it.  I qwould like to use the same esx servers to test the VSA.  If i add some additional local disks and install the VSA, will it have an adverse impact on what storage i have configured already ? or will it simply create a new Datastore  using the new local disks i have added in , and i use this datastore for the vm's i want to test the VSA with ? Thanks in advance

I'm not sure about the existing LUNs, I think that will be an issue, but maybe someone can confirm ... What I do know is that you're looking at a Brownfield installation which requires some prerequisites to be met, which sometimes on a running production/test system can be a problem

Did you check the release notes?: http://www.vmware.com/support/vsa/doc/vsphere-storage-appliance-511-release-notes.html

Or the considerations: http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-51/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.vmware.vsa.doc%2FGUID-B2BF3288-CA17-423F-BA...
