IBM DS3400 not suported with ESX 4.0 U1

Hello,

I've searched in the VMware compatibility guide and i've seen that IBM DS3400 wasn't supported by ESX 4.0 U1.

Can someone explain me why ?

It's supported on 4.0.

Probably just hasn't been tested/certified on U1 yet.

These things take time, there are a lot of different possible configurations that need to be tested before they can be put into the HCL.

Thank for your reply.

I was thinking the same thing but I wanted to have a confirmation.

As 4.0 U1 was not a re-certification trigger anything that is support under 4.0 will inherit supported for 4.0u1.

If support is crucial to you I would advise contacting IBM & VMware on this, there may be a reason that it is not listed as supported, or it may just be a typo/db glitch.

I asked the same question to an IBM technician and he told me that they don't have any problem with esx 4.0 u2.

They just don't have the certificate yet.
