How to copy a VM from one store to another store without storage vmotion?

Hi,

How can I copy a virtual machine from local disk to a datastore if I dont have storage vmotion? We purchased vSphere Advanced...:-(

Can I migrate a powered off VM from local disk to SAN datastore?

Thanks!

or you can just power off the VM and do a migrate. One of the options will be to move the disk as well.

As long as the same host has connectivity to the Local store and the SAN, you can power off the VM and just move the files manually. Once the files are moved, add the VM back into the inventory.

.... but if you want to have two copies of the same guest, you can also use VMware Converter.

I also have Advanced, and I use Troy's first method. Power off, right click, choose Migrate, then click Storage, etc.
