Help - issues adding existing lun to new VSphere 4.0 server

I have a lun which was connected to our PROD Vsphere 4 cluster and I have failed the lun over to our DR Vsphere 4.0 cluster using our SAN based technology. When I go to "add storage" and select the lun I get the 3 options. Keep existing signature, Assign a new signature, format the disk. I want to select Keep existing signature but when I do I get an error" Cannot change the host configuration"

I have imported foreign LUN ESX 3.5 and it worked fine so it must be related to version 4.0

BTW I have tried this through vCentre and also directly on the ESX host, both give the same error.

Are you trying this operation when you are connected to vcenter?

If yes, try it while connected directly to host via vsphere client.
