HP LeftHand P4000 VSAN Appliance Equivalent ?

hi

we are on the process to purchase vmware vsphere 4.0 enterprise and standard.

also we ordered the HP SB-40 storage blade with VS as a bundle.

we found that P4000 VSAN is only supported for ESX 3.0 , 3.5

what do you recommend as a substitue for the HP virtual iSCSI SAN appliance which can help us implement an iSCSI SAN for our 2 SB-40 hp storage array.

thank you.

According to the VMware HCL it's supported even for ESX 4.1.

select the "Storage" tab on http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php and search for VSA

Take a look at StarWind iSCSI SAN.

Hi - the HP P4000 VSA is supported and in fact is the only virtual SAN appliance supported on any version of VMware HCL today. Here's a link to a search showing it:

Click here to see the Storage Vitual Appliance HCL (and note only HP/HP LeftHand are on the list)

Hope that help!

We will be releasing a commercial version of our Virtual SAN later this year. Currently it is a free utility.
